Terms of Use

1. Using this site means accepting these terms

If you don't agree with them, don't use the site. That's the whole of it — there's nothing to sign and no account to close.

2. This site sells nothing

There is no shop, no checkout, no booking system and no way to pay The Shady Lady through this website. Nothing on these pages is an offer to sell you alcohol, and no drink is reserved, held or promised by anything you read here.

Alcohol is sold only in person, at the bar, to people who are 21 or over and can prove it.

3. 21+

This site is about a venue that admits adults aged 21 and over only. It is not intended for anyone under that age, and we don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under it.

We card at the door every time. Being on this website, knowing what's on the menu, or having been in before doesn't change that.

4. The menu, the prices and the hours will be wrong sometimes

We keep the drinks list, prices, opening hours and event listings as current as we reasonably can — the menu here is read live from the same system that drives the screens in the bar. Even so, things run out, prices move with what lands on island, a DJ cancels, and we close early for a private hire.

Everything on this site is for information. None of it is a binding price, a guarantee of availability, or a promise that we'll be open. If it matters, call us on (671) 484-2288 before you drive out.

5. Reviews you send us

If you leave a review, you're telling us it's your own honest experience, that anything you wrote is yours to publish, and that any photo is yours to send — with everyone in it happy to be on a public website.

You give us permission to publish, keep and remove it here, with the first name and photo you sent. You keep ownership of it. We read every review before it appears, we don't publish all of them, and we can take any of them down at any time. Ask us and we'll remove yours — no explanation needed.

Don't send anything false, abusive, someone else's, or that names a member of staff in a way you wouldn't say to their face.

6. Enquiries about hiring the room

The private-hire form doesn't send anything to us. It writes a text message on your own phone and leaves it to you whether to send it. Nothing you type into it is stored on this website.

A message about a booking isn't a booking. Nothing is held until we've confirmed it with you directly.

7. What's ours

The name, the wordmark, the photographs and the words on this site belong to The Shady Lady or to the people who made them for us. You're welcome to link to us, quote us and share our posts. Don't pass our material off as your own, and don't use our name or mark in a way that suggests we're involved in something we're not.

8. At the bar

Nothing on this website is a promise of admission or service. We can refuse entry or service to anyone, at any time, and we will — for no ID, an ID we don't believe, being already drunk, or behaving in a way that ruins the room for everyone else.

It's not personal and it's not up for negotiation at the door. If you think we got it wrong, take it up with a manager another day.

9. Drink sensibly, and don't drive

You are responsible for what you choose to drink and for how you get home. We'll call you a taxi any time you ask, and we'd much rather do that than watch you look for your keys.

Nothing on this site is medical advice, and no page here suggests that drinking is without risk.

10. Other people's sites

We link to maps, to social media and to a few other services. We don't control them and we're not responsible for what they do with you once you're there. Their terms are theirs.

11. No warranties

This site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don't promise it will always be up, always be accurate, or always be free of mistakes — and we've told you above exactly which parts are most likely to be out of date.

12. Limits on what we're liable for

To the fullest extent Guam law allows, The Shady Lady isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising out of your use of this website — a wasted journey because the hours were wrong, for instance.

Nothing here limits liability for anything that can't be limited by law, including death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. These terms can change

When they do, the effective date at the top changes with them. Using the site after that means the new version applies.

14. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Territory of Guam, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of them belongs in the courts of Guam.
